Hey, I'm Anandi Durgam!

General Info:

- Born and raised in Memphis, TN (West TN)       

 

My Family Of Four

My younger brother (by a year and a half) is my partner in crime and mentor. In the top picture, we are "standing on business" before we attempt to enjoy every ride at Six Flags Over Georgia in 90 degree weather! The bottom picture features my loving parents dropping me off at GSSE! Not only are they my providers, but they are my confidantes, too.

Extracurriculars

In my freshman year, as I was in marching band, I didn't have time in the first semester to join any clubs. The only club I was in was Model UN, and by sophomore year, I realized that wasn't my forte. However, I joined Key Club and was a member of Telugu Association Youth Committee outside of school. By junior year, I joined more STEM clubs, and maintained my involvement in volunteering. Though I was feeling lost and unaccomplished in my extracurriculars in sophomore year, my junior year extracurriculars helped me find myself :)

Friends!

As you can tell, I love taking pictures. I enjoy DIYing, and photography is another form of art. The top picture is of my closest school friends. The middle picture is of my sisters-from-other-misters. And lastly, if you can't already tell by the date, the picture on the bottom is from GSSE!

Why GSSE?

My childhood dream was to be a wizard, so in my eyes, AP Chemistry was the most adjacent high school course to mixing potions and magic. As science is the explanation of all phenomenons, it is akin to magic! However, AP Chemistry was not as hands on as I had hoped, so to to pursue my interest in science, I applied for GSSE for its engaging experience. I specifically selected Materials Science and Engineering as it dabbles in chemistry, physics, and biology while providing a hands-on learning experience via labs!
